2014 Old Vines Shiraz - DOZEN

$150.00$540.00

special 'end-of-life' release

VINTAGE 2014 is widely regarded as the best ever in the Hunter Valley, especially for reds. Langton's Auction House rated it 10/10. Wines from that year exhibit the most alluring aromas and exceptional depth of flavour. Their longevity is testament to the quality of fruit harvested in 2014.

This old-school Shiraz is a fully mature wine, similar to well-aged European oakey styles (Spanish, Italian).  Aged to perfection under cork, it's reached its peak drinking time earlier than other 2014 wines under screw-cap.

Medium red in colour. Beautiful nose, full of dark fruits - plums, blackberries and blackcurrants. Vanilla oak tannins, softened by time in the bottle, still providing plenty of structure and amazing balance of flavours for such a mature wine.

Smooth and easy-drinking, it's deliciously savoury, with a lingering extra-long finish.

Ideal with roast beef, lamb shanks, BBQ roasted veggies or a cheese platter.

Let it breathe for approx. 30 mins after opening.

PLEASE NOTE: This wine is at its peak drinking period, not recommended for long-term cellaring. Drink now to within 2-3 years.
