Generations range pays tribute to members of the Drayton Family, who distinguished themselves with extraordinary contributions to the betterment of the Drayton brand, as well as to the region's wine community.
Generations wines are a limited range, made only from the most highly rated vintages, using grapes carefully picked and graded to ensure premium quality.
Lennard (1905 – 1982), was a Third Generation Drayton, along with his brothers Harry, Walter and George. Known simply as ‘Uncle Len’ to everyone, he was widely respected and revered in the Hunter Valley community. Len guided Draytons Wines through the transition from its humble pioneering beginnings, into the modern era of commercial winemaking. He oversaw the introduction of tractors, electricity and refrigeration, which radically altered the way wines were made in Australia henceforth.
2023 Lennard Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich and powerful wine, full of dark fruit aromas and gentle red bell pepper spice. Deep crimson in colour, it’s concentrated, with firm oak tannins. A generous, fruit-driven palate provides depth, structure and balance, ensuring long-term cellaring potential.
Ideal with lamb shanks, steak, Korean BBQ, roasted veggies, beef vindaloo, burgers, meatlovers pizza, Massaman curry, mushroom risotto, dark chocolate and hard cheeses.
